Step by step

1. Open the CPE and check the Events tab: see when it dropped and whether there's a pattern (does it always drop at the same time? does it drop and come back within minutes?).

2. Rule out power and optics first:

   • A Dying Gasp event → it's CPE with no power.
   • LOS → it's Poor signal or LOS.

3. Without either of the above, the problem tends to be the device (frozen) or the internal network:

   • Try Restart the CPE (via OLT).
   • If it flaps a lot, check for a borderline signal (even without LOS, a poor RX causes drops) on the Optics tab.

When to escalate
