What is WireGuard?
WireGuard is a modern, highly efficient virtual private network (VPN) solution designed to be faster, simpler, and more secure than traditional alternatives.
Designed as a lightweight VPN protocol, WireGuard uses state-of-the-art cryptography and operates at the operating system's kernel level, offering superior performance and reliability. Its minimalist approach results in simplified configuration and management, making it accessible even to users with less networking experience.
WireGuard stands out for its ability to establish fast, stable connections, and for a security model that's easy to audit thanks to its lean source code. Originally developed for the Linux kernel, WireGuard is available on multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, BSDs, and mobile devices, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of VPN applications.
WireGuard is one of the VPN tunnel protocols supported by Cpehub — it's the simplest to set up. Cpehub also supports IPSec/L2TP and, soon, OpenVPN. See the Communication overview to choose what best fits your scenario.
How to configure
We've created tutorials for some devices, but you can perform the configuration on any equipment that supports the protocol. If needed, feel free to reach out to the support team with questions.
First, create the VPN in the system (Cpehub side):
Then, select the device where you'll configure the VPN (ISP side), choosing whichever best fits your scenario:
