Roles & permissions
Goal: define what each group of users can see and do in Cpehub.
In Cpehub, permissions aren't granted user by user: you create roles (access profiles) with a set of permissions, then assign each user to one or more roles.
The roles list
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Role name (e.g.: admin, manager, activator, partner). |
| Users | How many users use that role. |
| Permissions | Sample of permissions + See all (N) for the full list. |
| Options | Actions menu (edit, delete). |
Examples of typical roles:
- admin — full access (all permissions).
- manager — management, with broad permissions.
- activator — focused on activating/confirming CPEs (e.g.: view CPEs, confirm CPEs).
- partner — neutral network partner, with restricted access.
Exact roles and permissions vary by account.
Creating / editing a role
-
Click + Add Role (or Actions → Edit on an existing one).
-
Give the role a name.
-
Check the desired permissions. Cpehub has granular permissions (e.g.: see administration, see alarms, edit alarms, manage remote acs, confirm cpes…), so you can build very specific profiles.
-
Save.
Best practices
tip
Create roles by function (support, provisioning, management, partner) and grant only what's needed. It's safer and easier to maintain than loose per-user permissions.
